This MR updates Dolphin to support redo functionality added in KIO's FileUndoManager. It enables triggering redo operations from the user interface and ensures appropriate integration with the undo/redo command flow.

The menu is located at Menu -> Configure -> Window color scheme
Either in menu or hamburger mode.
FEATURE: 506618
|
|
The menu for installing and launching Filelight was only available
through the status bar free space info button until now. By default
we do no longer show the free space info button because the status
bar has been changed to show less information by default.
This commit adds the "Manage Disk Space Usage" menu to the "Tools"
menu in the menu bar so it is more discoverable for users.
|
|
Now it's in the first level of the "View Settings" dropdown, no
need to be nested in the "Sort" menu.
|
|
This should replace the "View Mode" button in the toolbar by default. Its
dropdown menu contains more actions related to the view: zoom, sort by,
show additional columns, show hidden files, grouping, show file previews.
The original "view_mode" action is kept so the "Change View Mode" submenu
in the main menu (or in the hamburger menu when this button is invisible)
is unchanged.
|
|
Viewmode text is rather long, so we should hide it by default. Setting
the priority to low seems to fix that.
BUG: 501498
|
|
This is the sort of thing a user might want to toggle temporarily, as
sometimes grouping is a helpful visualization and sometimes not.
Right now, doing that is easy when using the in-window menubar or the
global menu: View > Show in Groups. However when using the default
hamburger menu, it becomes difficult: Burger menu > More > View >
Show in Groups. It's four levels of nesting and requires precision.
This change addresses that by moving the action into the "Sort By"
menu. This improves discoverability for people using the default UI,
and makes the location of the action consistent for people using all UI
styles. It also gets the item into the view context menu, where it
currently isn't, providing another entry point for it.
|
|
Instead of showing three buttons, which is quite visually noisy, show
only one button that is split: First button, when clicked, loops
through the view modes. Second smaller button with the down arrow
shows menu of the available view modes.

This commit implements an action to move focus to the Places panel
analogous to "Focus Terminal Panel" functionality-wise.
The implementation of the "Focus Terminal Panel" and "Focus Places
Panel" actions is streamlined while improving their code quality.
The "Focus Terminal Panel" action is moved into the "Show Panels"
sub-menu because it makes more sense to be there considering that its
previous location (the "Tools" menu) is meant for external applications
and not for functionality internal to Dolphin.
This commit also makes it so the keyboard focus is moved to and from
the Places panel whenever it is toggled visible or invisible. This is
now consistent with the focus handling when the Terminal panel is shown
or hidden.
The "Focus Places Panel" is one of the actions which was wished for in
KDE's accessibility chat room because people relying on keyboard
controls might need to press the Tab key a lot to move from the view to
the Places panel.
The new default shortcut is Ctrl+P.

This commit adds an "Act as Administrator" toggle action to the
View menu if kio-admin is installed. The action allows switching
between acting as an admin with root-access or not.
This was already possible in Dolphin when kio-admin is installed by
editing the location bar directly. However this is somewhat
unintuitive and there are no warnings at all about the dangers of
acting as an administrator.
This commit adds a warning dialog when triggering the action. It is
somewhat explicit about the risks because this is in fact very
dangerous.
Furthermore, while acting on a view with administrative privileges,
a bar above the view shows up that contains a warning. The bar can
be closed to stop acting with elevated privileges.
The warning dialog can be disabled and re-enabled from the Dolphin
settings but only if the action is even available.
There is a lot more to be done to further improve this feature both
security-wise as well as when it comes to usability. But
considering that we are already encouraging users to use this
feature without any warnings at all, I feel like now is a good time
to merge this.

Now that it's a KMenuAction, it becomes impossible to trigger the root
action when it's in a menu. To work around this, we create a new action
that mirrors the state of the original. It also takes the default
shortcut.

If you have a split view open, you can now pop the active half out into a new window by clicking the "Pop out" button in the toolbar or by activating "View > Pop out".
BUG: 270604
|
|
- Various code improvements
- Smoother animations
- The bottom bar in General Mode only becomes visible if items are
currently selected
- Removed the selection mode action from the default toolbar since
it can already be toggled in various ways
- More documentation
- Some cleaning
|
|
The selection mode action is a checkable toggle action named
"Select Files and Folders" which has "Space" as the default
shortcut.
In selection mode a bottom bar with contextual actions is shown.
These should mostly mirror the actions which are available through
the right-click context menu aka DolphinContextMenu.
Resizing of the window might make a overflow button appear in the
bottom selection mode bar.
This commit makes press and hold in the view activate selection
mode. This behaviour is not triggered if the press and hold is
used to either start a rubberband selection or a drag operation
within a short time. The length of the short timeframe is defined
by a QStyleHint. This is currently not implemented in touch
because I can't test it.
Mix the selection mode bars' background colors using a nice
combination of colors from the current color scheme

This is equivalent to the "Open Terminal Here" feature that existed until Version 20.12.
If the user has selected folders, replace "Open Terminal" in the context menu with "Open Terminal Here".
When more than 5 folders are selected, a modal window will ask the user if they are sure they want to
open all 6 or more terminal windows.
In Detail View, users can also select a file,
which will open a terminal at the location of that file.

This commit removes the "toggle_filter" action from the default
toolbar configuration. It is not quite important enough to be
always visible on the toolbar by default. Instead it is easily
accessible through the hamburger menu and the menu bar.
The filter is only really necessary if one has a lot of items in
the current location and one knows exactly how to identify a
certain item among them by the name which probably isn't how most
people browse their files.
There are also some more advanced use-cases but advanced users
will be able to either learn the keyboard shortcut or move this
action back to the toolbar.
|
|
|
|
This is to expose more filter.
Also rename "Show Filter Bar" to simply "Filter", keep "Show Filter Bar" as tooltip
Adds a toggle filter bar action.

The defaults changed in 37327c9b0aae112c5890703cba1f0157043007e0 but
I forgot to also bump the kpartgui version so this commit rectifies
that.

The UrlNavigators will be automatically added to the toolbar. The Sort By
action is removed from the default toolbar to make space.
Remove all options to have UrlNavigators outside the toolbar and remove
those code paths.
Make it so the new NavigatorsWidgetAction contains two UrlNavigators when
in split view mode. Spacing was also added to align these UrlNavigators
with the ViewContainers when enough space is available.
Force the toolbar to be either at the top or bottom of the window.
Set a sane sizeHint for DolphinUrlNavigator. It would be better to do this
in KUrlNavigator in the future.
This commit also contains a changes which should be moved to a separate
merge requests before this gets merged:
- Add an expansion animation when split view is enabled by the user
|
|
This commit adds a locationInToolbar KToggleAction to switch between
using a location bar to navigate or using a new custom QWidgetAction
in the toolbar.
A big portion of this MR is refactoring because until now the
UrlNavigator was tightly intertwined with the DolphinViewContainer.
With this MR an UrlNavigator for controlling a View can be freely
connected or disconnected with a single method call.
A DolphinUrlNavigator class is created in the process which contains all
Dolphin-specific UrlNavigator code which did previously reside in the
DolphinViewContainer class. Other application parts that belong to
UrlNavigator-management are also moved here.

* Adds a "Copy location" item, after the "Copy" Context item and Edit Menu, which will attempt to copy the path of the fist item into clipboard.
## Reasoning
Most File Managers have this option through one or another way.
Also using the default Copy option often results in different behaviour depending on the target software, Konsole will take the path. Other Programs will use the URI. Which ultimately could lead to non optimal User Experience.
## Notes
* Should the target file **not** be on a local hard drive, this fallback to using the remote URL, feedback is wanted on that matter.

Removed all signal-slot-connections related to DolphinNewFileMenu->errorMessage(QString)
in DolphinMainWindow and DolphinContextMenu and replaced it by a better solution.
Now we make use of the already existing DolphinNewFileMenuObserver singleton class to achieve a better
error handling, because every newly created DolphinContextMenu instance registers himself by DolphinNewFileMenuObserver
and we use this to connect the errorMessage(QString) signal of every DolphinContextMenu instance to the errorMessage(QString)
signal of the DolphinNewFileMenuObserver singleton class.
So we need only one connection from DolphinNewFileMenuObserver to DolphinMainWindow (or to DolphinPart) to
collect all error messages thrown by every DolphinNewFileMenu instance.

Dolphin 2.0 will get a new view-engine with the
following improvements:
- Better performance
- Animated transitions
- No clipped filenames due to dynamic item-sizes
- Grouping support for all view-modes
- Non-rectangular selection areas
- Simplified code for better maintenance
More details will be provided in a blog-entry during
the next days.
Please note that the code is in a very
early alpha-stage and although the most tricky parts
have been implemented already very basic things like
drag and drop or selections have not been pushed yet.
Those things are rather trivial to implement but this
still will take some time.
